Bark up the right tree

Dogs love to chew—it strengthens their jaws, supports dental health, and naturally calms them. Chewing releases feel-good chemicals like dopamine and endorphins, satisfying a dog’s natural instinct. Bonno is the perfect, natural chew toy to keep your dog happy and healthy!

Safe to chew

A natural, strong chew toy without any animal products, artificial ingredients or additives and free from plastics or nylon. Splinter-free - Mānuka wood fragments are blunt, soft, and the fibrous fragments are edible. Suitable for dogs with allergies.

Enriches your dog's life

Fun, comforting, satisfying, restful & soothing.

Natural and eco-friendly

100% natural. Our wood is naturally seasoned (dried) before being hand crafted into a Bonno chew and finished with NZ Flaxseed Oil. When a Bonno reaches its end of life, it can be easily composted in your garden. Our recyclable cardboard packaging is made from recycled resources.

When to replace

Regularly inspect your dog's Bonno for signs of wear. Replace it when it's too short to hold, becomes a choking hazard, or if your dog can break off large pieces of the inner wood. Damage like cracking, splitting, or significant wear also means it's time to replace. Since Bonno is made from natural Mānuka wood, exposure to long periods of direct sunlight can cause splitting. Always discard large fragments to ensure safety.

Our values

We proudly source our Mānuka wood locally here in Northland, New Zealand, repurposing wood that was cleared and would be discarded as a by-product of local industries.

We ensure 100% of the Mānuka is used—its bark becomes mulch for landscaping, while sawdust, wood shavings, and off-cuts make perfect fuel for wood-fired pizza ovens, BBQs, and smoking meats, thanks to the strong and unique Mānuka aroma.

What our customers say

Great chews to keep
them all entertained

Having 3 dogs I keep an eye out for great chews to keep them all entertained. From a Border Collie, a terrier and toy Poodle cross they love Bonno. It’s robust enough even when the Border Collie left it out for the lawn mower, it is still safe enough for them all to use. Hours of constructive chew time for all.”

– Justine, Tauranga (NZ)
He’s a stick
connoisseur

Our border terrier Alfie loves your Bonno chew. He’s a stick connoisseur who has dragged all sorts of wooden chewables into our house. Your Bonno chews are the favourite as they last well, keeping him well occupied. We hope youkeep making them.

– Sue & Geoff, Auckland (NZ)
The chew itself
lasts and lasts

In the past I have been reluctant to allow my Border Terriers to chew stick type objects. However, when I was given Bonno chews for them to try, I was very impressed. Bonno is soft to chew, this means it doesn't hurt their mouth or cause gum bleeding. The chew itself lasts and lasts. To top it off the bits chewed off are easy to clean up if WonderFul manages to sneak it inside.

I’ve found it’s

great to give Azmin

I’ve found it’s great to give Azmin when I’m training the other dogs and she wants to have something in her mouth which she normally tries to destroy when she’s in high arousal.
